Channel magnets utilize a magnet and a steel cup or channel. They are very versatile in application - for holding and positioning. All have mounting holes that allow the magnet to be screwed or bolted into place.
More About Channel Magnets
Channel magnets are largely used for securing or mounting, very common in door latches, blueprint holders, license plate holders, and sign/name plate holders.
Their design features a strong ceramic magnet as a base, set into a channel that features holes or loops for mounting.
Compared with alnico, neodymium, or samarium, ceramic provides moderate pull strength at a much better value. Its natural resistance to corrosion and high heat allow the magnets to go without plating, contributing to their great value.
Jobmaster stocks standard products that provide up to 112 lbs of pull strength. For lighter duty applications, we stock options with as little as 2 lbs pull.
